Welcome to NorthPalace.com
This is the personal website of David Romig, Jr. where I sometimes post my projects, journal entries, my resumé, or just experiment.
It's been in a constant state of being updated lately, so stay tuned as I occasionally add or change content.

Recent Activities and Projects
- Built Linux From Scratch on a Parallels Desktop guest machine.
- Got Parallel Tools v26.0.1 working under Parallel Desktop v18.3.3 on the latest linux kernel. Required getting Parallels Tools Gateway kernel module compiling and working.
- Got mutter running gedit on wayland without PAM installed as a test. Learned a little how login sessions work on D-BUS by creating sessions manually.
- Building a generic x86-64 linux bootable from scratch to later build Linux From Scratch on the gaming machine I just received.
- Preparing to build Linux From Scratch on the gaming machine I just received, with both 32 and 64 libraries, Steam, and Wine, hopefully. Will leave it dual bootable with Windows 11.
- Added a TLS Certificate to this site since browsers are preferring HTTPS over HTTP even when the content doesn't need it.
- Preparing to build my own stdc++ library from scratch (again, starting over since it's been years) mainly for curiousity and to keep me learning.
- Website could really use an overhaul.
